Community Investment Team Member Position Description
Objective
To participate as a volunteer team member to review and evaluate Community Investment for Impact grant applications.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Reside and/or work within the Chattahoochee Valley: Muscogee, Phenix City-Russell, Harris, Chattahoochee, Clay, Marion, Quitman, Stewart, Talbot, and Taylor counties.
- Attend a 2-hour volunteer training session (in person on March 23).
- Commit to reviewing a maximum of 8 program applicants by reviewing the online application and attending at least 4 hybrid site visits (site visits will be held during business hours).
- Attend two panel area meetings (beginning of process/after reviewing applications and post virtual/hybrid site visits).
- Adhere to United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley’s Conflict of Interest Policy and maintain confidentiality.
- Ensure recommendations are objective, fair, impartial, and follow evaluation screening guidelines.
- Demonstrate personal investment in United Way as a donor to the 2022 Campaign and/or other qualifying support.
- Desire to make a positive difference and promote child, family, and community well-being.

This year, we hope to increase efficiency by scheduling hybrid conversations with applicants on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during the same time blocks as the first panel meeting. Please review your calendars as you select your preferred area(s) and choose the panel that works best with your typical schedule.
Confidentiality
Community Investment grant applications, site visits, and team discussions must be kept confidential.
Conflict of Interest
Community Investment volunteers must disclose any direct or indirect relationship with grant applicants.
